Our Story
A Family Recipe Rooted in New Orleans
Tasty Tails didn't start as a business plan — it started at the docks. Born and raised in New Orleans, our family grew up with the Gulf practically in our backyard, which meant fresh seafood wasn't a special occasion, it was just how we ate. Every Lenten season, our dad made the same trip to a small seafood shack on 4th Street to pick up live sacks of crawfish, and those sacks turned into the seafood boils our family still talks about today. That tradition — the smell of the seasoning pot, the newspaper spread across the table, everyone digging in with their hands — is where Tasty Tails truly began.
What Makes Our Crawfish Different
Most Dallas seafood spots boil crawfish in plain water, then toss it in butter and garlic afterward — which means the seasoning sits on the shell instead of soaking into the meat. We do it the way our family always has: boiling our crawfish directly in a blend of seasonings, spices, fresh vegetables, and a few ingredients we'll never give up the secret to. That's the difference between crawfish that tastes seasoned and crawfish that's seasoned all the way through.
We serve it two ways — our traditional NOLA style, true to how it's done back home, and our Who Dat sauce, a garlic-butter spin with your choice of heat, from mild to "you asked for it" spicy. Louisiana natives who've moved to Dallas tell us all the time that it's the closest thing to home they've found anywhere in Texas — and that's exactly the reputation we've built Tasty Tails on.
From New Orleans to Addison, Texas
Today, Tasty Tails serves the Dallas-Fort Worth area from our home in Addison, TX, bringing that same New Orleans-style cooking to a city that's fallen in love with bold, authentic flavor. Beyond crawfish, our menu carries the same family approach through overstuffed shrimp and oyster po'boys, cajun wings, jambalaya egg rolls, fried catfish, and gumbo made from scratch — every dish built on recipes passed down, not invented for a menu.
Whether you're a Louisiana native craving a taste of home or a Dallas local discovering Cajun food for the first time, Tasty Tails is here to bring a little bit of the Big Easy to your table.
